Local and Virtual Chapters

We invite you to visit any of our local chapters around the state and/or virtual genre chapters. To access the chapter/genre group forum(s), contact the leader listed to be added to the group.

SCWA bylaws require that after the third visit, you become a SCWA member. See Join Us for details.

If you are interested in starting a new chapter in your area, we encourage you to do so by filling out this online form: New Chapter Proposal. (This form is available to members only.) Contact the SCWA administrator at administrator@myscwa.org.

To access that chapter's private forum, contact the chapter leader or the SCWA administrator (administrator@myscwa.org).

Chapter Events/ Funding Support and Regional Workshops

SCWA will provide development support and sponsor events for members to improve their writing skills and their knowledge of the writing profession. SCWA will provide financial support, as available, to chapters. Chapters are encouraged to identify the development needs of its members and to work with the board to address how these can be satisfied. The board of directors will organize resources and work collaboratively with chapters to conduct or facilitate the delivery of local programs or events.
