BIOS

 SPECIAL GUEST Duncan Murrell is a writer living in Pittsboro, North Carolina. He's currently a contributing editor at Harper's Magazine, The Oxford American magazine, andThe Normal School. He also writes for The Highline @ The Huffington Post, The New Republic, Men's Journal, Our State Magazine, and Southwest Magazine.  His work has been recognized in Best American Essays and he's been a resident at Yaddo. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing (fiction) from Bennington College.  He was once a newspaper reporter, an editor of books, a Marine officer and professional pyrotechnician. He likes to run.


HOST Amber Wheeler Bacon is a writer, editor, teacher and literacy coach. She has an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars and is on the board of directors of the South Carolina Writers Association. She is the recipient of the 2018 Breakout 8 Writers Prize sponsored by The Author’s Guild and a Katharine Bakeless Nason Scholarship from the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference. Her story collection, We Were Vessels, was one of five finalists for Hub City Press’s C. Michael Curtis Short Story Book Prize. She is Assistant Fiction Editor at Four Way Review
