The South Carolina Writers Association
‘BIG DREAM’ Conference

The South Carolina Writers Association is proud to announce our annual conference, affectionately named The ‘BIG DREAM’ Conference because writers are given the chance to dream big and enjoy a weekend writing retreat while meeting well-established and successful authors, editors and agents. We have even worked in some free time to read, write, and walk the beach.

WHEN AND WHERE?

Plan to spend from Friday October 27 through Sunday October 29 at the Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort, 14276 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. Registration for the conference does not reserve a room for you—this is something you must do and pay for separately. Their phone number is (800) 344-0982.

WHAT IS IT?

A weekend full of exciting, inspiring, creative, jumpstarts to ‘YOUR’ writing while networking with writing buddies old and new. We even scheduled some free time to enjoy the beach.

The weekend begins with a Friday evening reception dinner with Keynote SpeakerAgent, Peter Steinberg, and The Petigru Review launch party featuring readings by Carrie McCray Memorial Literary Award winners and announcement of Pushcart Prize nominees.

On Saturday, choose six (6) of eighteen (18) possible classes and enjoy a leisurely buffet lunch while networking with seasoned professionals in the industry. Saturday concludes with an ‘Open Mic Night’ on the deck outside of Webster’s Restaurant available to all participants (weather contingency plan provided).

Sunday brings a complimentary continental breakfast along with our Annual Membership Meeting open to all SCWA members and conference participants regardless of membership status. The weekend concludes with two panel discussions followed by announcements of door prizes and silent auction basket winners.
