Author Biography
Dea Jones writes short stories and devotional material under her own name as well as romantic suspense novels under her pen name, Holland Richards. Her short story, A COUPLE OF JEWELS, was published in the online literary journal, Ember; a journal of luminous things, and her story THE PREACHER AND THE MYNAH BIRD were published in the 2024 edition of The Petigru Review. She has also published daily devotional readings in THE WORD IN SEASON, a quarterly devotional of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as well as UPPER ROOM DISCIPLINES. As Holland Richards, Dea has self-published her first novel, DESERT COURAGE. Dea lives near Columbia with her dysfunctionally spoiled rescue Boston terrier named Winston. She is a member of the South Carolina Writer's Association and the Columbia III Writers Group. When she is not working by day as a middle school teacher or writing by night, Dea enjoys reading, traveling, watching old classic movies, and trying new recipes.
