SCWA has some exciting news on the horizon. We’ve been discussing our new website for a few months now, and we’re finally ready for the big reveal.
SCWA Website: same URL, new look! The website still can be found at myscwa.org, but just about everything else on the site has changed. It goes live Oct. 1 and is part of SCWA's new branding to the writing community. More importantly, the new site is designed to be member focused.
There are many new benefits for members including a password protected MEMBERS ONLY section, which will host:
- Private forums for each chapter to communicate and organize their activities.
- Submission opportunities blog.
- Recorded videos of virtual workshops.
- A discussion forum to improve communication about SCWA events and activities and to host conversations about writing craft and the writing life.
In addition, we soon will introduce Virtual Genre Chapters for members who wish to join an online critique group specific to their genre.
Another addition to the site is a Member Profile area to give our authors a place to share their bios, publications and photos on our website. Members will need to update their profile. Watch the video for directions on how to do that.
Take a short video tour of the new site:
We're getting close to announcing the selections for The Petigru Review. The submission windows are now open for SCWA's anthology Catfish Stew as well as the McCray Nickens Poetry and Coker Fiction Fellowships contests co-sponsored with the South Carolina Academy of Authors.
Register now to receive early bird registration discounts for SCWA's Spring 2021 Conference, April 16 to 18, in Columbia. It's shaping up to be a great event!
You can get more information on publications, contests and the conference at our website, www.myscwa.org.
Stay safe and keep writing,
